The Climate Launchpad is the world largest green business idea competition with a mission to unlock the world’s cleantech potential that addresses climate change. The competition creates a stage for the launching of these ideas. Climate Launchpad is part of the entrepreneurship offering of the EIT Climate-KIC.
The Nigeria Climate Innovation Centre (NCIC), the official Nigeria CLP partner will be hosting a virtual CLP competition for 2020 participants after successfully going through a 3-day bootcamp in collaboration with the Financial Centre for Sustainability (FC4S), Lagos
The NCIC is an initiative of a partnership program of the World Bank with the help of the Government of Nigeria and support of the Enterprise Development Center of the Lagos Business School. Launched in September 2018 by the Vice President of Nigeria as the Special Purpose Hub for Climate Technology Programs to support the growth of a Green Economy in Nigeria. The NCIC will provide incubation, capacity building services and financing to Nigerian entrepreneurs and new ventures that are developing innovating solutions in energy, waste, and water management and smart-Agric businesses to address climate change challenges.
FC4S Lagos was established in April 2019 by key financial market stakeholders including FMDQ Group, Africa’s first vertically integrated financial market infrastructure (“FMI”) group, with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and other stakeholders in the financial market ecosystem. Its sole aim is accelerating the expansion of green and sustainable finance in Nigeria as well as promoting the adoption of the United Nations (UN) 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
